I have this 12 element log p up at 20m above the ground from 2006 and I have had great qsos on all 5 HAM freq the noise is down up to 40% on receive I have done many tests with only 5 watt to stations around the world and received good rapports.
When we did comparisions with a 5 band 2element quad ant and klm tribander and 3 element Steppir ant from South Africa at only 100 watt these log peridodic antennas were 1 point stronger than the KLM and the Steppir antennas and the quad antennas were 1 s poinr better but the reception were stronger on the log periodic with 1 point better than all of the antennas that we did the test with. I feed the log periodic with LMR 1200 coax and have used diffrent radios to find is there anything to the radios when using the log periodic and even with a K2 it did as i expected -- great QSOs with QRP operation. This antenna talks to the station in front of it and does not waste rf to the side of its path. You will have great fun using it when first plugged into the radio, went very quiet and I thought something was wrong and then dialing around the stations audio is there but all the noise that I previously was listening to was gone. It is realy a fantastic performing antenna on rx and tx with qrp and 400 watts and you will not part with it once you have used it. Quality is not expensive, it is priceless! 73s Kobus ZS6Jpy
