160 Meter Tuner Range Extender for 43' Verticals
Forty-three foot vertical antennas have become very popular in recent years. However, on 160 Meters, these antennas have a very high reactance and high voltage at the antenna feedpoint. Tuning with a tuner results in maximum efficiency 80-10 Meters, but conditions at 160M present a major challenge for most tuners. To get around this problem, add the range extender to the base of the antenna to increase 160M matching capabilities. Reduces reactance and puts the antenna in range of the automatic or manual tuner. Potentially damaging high-voltage currents are reduced, preventing damage to the tuner. 1.5 kW. Weather-resistant PVC, ceramic feedthru connectors forinput/output. Shorting jumper connection when 160 Meters is not in use. 3 ½" x 3 ½" x 11 ". Use with MFJ-998RT/MFJ-994BRT or other automatic/manual tuners. |
